Abstract

On the basis of the archive and other sources, the author presents the economic relations between Slovenia and its neighbouring countries, states-successors of the Habsburg Empire, in the period from the end of the Second World War to 1960. The paper focuses on the economic contacts with the Hungarian, Polish and Czechoslovak companies with which Slovenia concluded a series of investment agreements in order to implement its first Five Year Plan. These contacts were interrupted during Yugoslavia's conflict with the Communist Information Bureau. To compensate this, Slovenia intensified its economic cooperation with Austria.
