Based on the literature and a survey of a part of archive sources, the paper briefly discusses the process of solving the national problem in the Slovenian and Italian Liberation Movements during the Second World War. The topic has been discussed several times in the Slovene and Italian literature. However, there is no detailed and complete monography which would objectively consider all available data.
