The following article focuses on the social activities of Graz-born Rudolf Kirbisch, whose activities contributed to life in Ljubljana at the end of the 19th century. Based primarily on newspaper sources, we have attempted to envision the activities of his confectionery shop in Congress Square and his efforts in the German and Austrian Alpine Society (Deutscher und Oesterreichischer Alpenverein DuOeAV), in which he was actively involved until his death.
