Britanski diplomati o sporu Tito-Stalin in petem kongresu KPJ

Že površen pogled v številne fascikle generalne korespondence Foreign Officea v Public Record Officeu v Londonu (FO 371) kaže, da so britanski diplomatski dokumenti bogata zbirka virov o sporu Tito-Stalin 1948. leta. Doslej v jugoslovanski znanstveni literaturi še ni objavljenih del o povojni zgodovini narodov Jugoslavije, ki bi upoštevala tudi britanske diplomatske dokumente, dostopne že do 1955. leta. V sedanjih razmerah, ko primanjkuje tudi najbolj osnovna tuja znanstvena literatura v naših knjižnicah, si je težko zamisliti kakšno daljše, sistematično raziskovanje v tujih arhivih. Med svojimi raziskavami 1983. leta v Londonu sem, da bi bil dobil vsaj približen vtis o pomembnosti in značaju teh virov, pregledal vrsto fasciklov o odnosih med FLR Jugoslavijo in ZSRR v letih 1948 in 1952.
