Consideration of Social and Health Issues at the Ljubljana Administrative Unit Assembly Sessions Between 1927 and 1929

Abstract

On the basis of archive sources (stenographic minutes of the sessions), daily newspapers and literature, the author focuses on three periods of the Ljubljana Administrative Unit Assembly sessions between 1927 and 1929, when, in the atmosphere of conflicts between various parties, social and health issues were also considered. The author makes a detailed demonstration of individual sessions in regard to the aforementioned issues - discussions which developed every time, indicating the various standpoints of the opposition and the majority in regard to health and social issues, but at the same time, in spite of the differences, also the will to seek out constructive solutions in order to improve the health and social situation of the weakest social classes in the Ljubljana administrative unit.
