The author discusses the role of the CPS in the preparations and the organization of armed resistance in 1941. The uncompromising readiness of the communists to fight the occupying forces and the building up of their position as a clandestine organization in prewar years were the platform of an effective armed force in which the communists were the strongest and more influential political group.
