Forty Years of Dr. Tone Ferenc at the Institute for Contemporary History
Abstract
The director of the Institute for contemporary history presents the historian prof. dr. Tone Ferenc whose work was closely connected with that of the institute. With the exception of a brief period of time, he was employed at the institute since its establishment in June 1959 until his retirement in the beginning of 1997. He held many top administrative positions: he was the principal (1971-1975), first from the ranks of experts when the realisation of concept of research programme expansion began; he was a twice the president of the Institute Council, and finally the chairman of the Administrative Board (1994-1996); he also conducted scientific research and the archives. From 1981 to 1995 he lectured on history of World War II and National Liberation War at the Faculty of Philosophy in Ljubljana.
