Abstract

The paper deals with the research work of Tone Ferenc, Ph.D, university professor, Scientific and archive councilor, for the period up to the beginning of 1997. By that time his bibliography counted 646 titles, among them a number of independent publications. Ferenc has dedicated most of his research to the Second World War period in Slovenia, its occupation and national resistance, however, with reference to global events. As the leading expert for archive material on the history of Slovenes between 1941 and 1945, he played a major role in the publication of scientific sources for that period. The high quality of his published work is the fruit of a persistent and systematic collection of sources and his mastery of extensive historical material. Today, one can hardly discuss the Second World War history of the Slovenes without reference to Ferenc's work.
