Enterprise in Slovenian Agriculture
Crossroads between individual and collective enterprise in agriculture from the time of the Land Release (1848) to World War II
Keywords:
slovenska zgodovina, gospodarska zgodovina, kmetijstvo, zadružništvoAbstract
At this time in the Slovenian agriculture, smaller farms prevailed which were unable to meet the demands of the market economy. As a consequence, the conviction had developed among Slovenes that only co-operative farming would ensure the survival of and enterprise initiative for smaller farmers. However, these hopes failed because the produce based co-operative farming could not match the results of the credit based co-operative farming.
