Modernization of Slovenian economy under Austro-Hungarian monarchy was a constant but slow process. Industry had a leading role in it, in particular mining and metal industries. Agriculture, on the other hand, was less successful, although certain progress was perceived which was of particular importance because of an important share of agriculture in the domestic product.
