Decembra, tik pred novim letom, je praznoval sedemdesetletnico življenja prof. dr. Janko Prunk. Jeseni, nekaj mesecev pred tem, se je upokojil kot redni profesor Fakultete za družbene vede ljubljanske univerze, katere učitelj je bil 35 let, zadnjih sedemnajst let pa je bil tam s polnim delovnim časom tudi zaposlen. Na oddelku za politologijo je poučeval predmete Nastanek sodobnega sveta, Zgodovina socialne in politične misli na Slovenskem, Zgodovina evropske ideje in Izbrani problemi sodobnih političnih teorij. Kot zgodovinar se je hrabro – in z velikim znanjem, ki sega na področja politične filozofije in zgodovine političnih idej, poskusil v njegovi zgodovinopisni izbiri – politični zgodovini – bližnji družboslovni disciplini, in poskušal povezovati politologijo z zgodovino, v praksi uresničiti toliko opevano multidisciplinarnost.
