Within the context of the general accelerated development of Trieste during the transition period from the 19th to the 20th century, the author discusses the main parties in Trieste at that time. Analyzing the consensus of the wide strata of the Trieste population regarding the three main political currents, the author tries to indicate the ideological concepts of Italian liberal nationalists, the »Edinost« political society and the Social Democratic party.
