The treatise deals with statistical sources and their applicability in the investigation of the social and economic history of the Slovenes. Attention is focused on the statistical data relating to the professional records and the staff registers of industrial enterprises. An analysis of these data shows the development of trade and industry in the Celje district between 1869 an 1910.
