Carniolian Jacobin Baron Siegfried von Taufferer and France
Keywords:
Sigfried von Taufferer, Kranjska, francoska revolucija, Vojna krajinaAbstract
The author describes French documents and publications that supplement the book by Dana Zwitter Tehovnik entitled »Wirkungen der franzosichen Revolution in Krain« and her survey of the life and ideas of baron Siegfried von Taufferer. Special attention is paid to Taufferer's plan to start an insurrection in the Military Borderland. The author emphasizes that the insurrection plan may be considered the first manifestation of dissatisfaction in the Borderland with the policies pursued by Maria Theresa and Joseph II.
