The Beginnings of the Political Agrarian Movement in Slovenia
A Contribution to the Pre-History of the Establishment of the Independent Agricultural Party
The article deals with the beginnings of the modern political agrarian movement in Slovenia. Based on the newspaper reports and other relevant sources, the pre-history of the establishment of the Independent Agricultural Party in the newly-formed Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes is presented. A special emphasis is placed on the developments in Inner Carniola and the Goriška region, where, on the eve of World War I in what was then the Habsburg Monarchy, the first Slovenian agrarian political formations were established.
