Fascist Programmes for the Deprivation of the National Rights of the Slovenes and the Croats in the Venetian Giulia

  • Milica Kacin Wohinz

The author analyzes fascist programmes of the period 1925-1942 whose political aim was to establish, at the border, a compact Italian area as a bridgehead for their expansion into the Balkan. Therefore the Slovene-Croatian minority was deprived of their political and national rights by the fascist regime, who tried to colonize the country by expropriation of rural property and deportation of the Slav population. However, they were unable to carry out these plans because of the resistance they encountered.
