Abstract

The paper deals with the high expectations regarding the implementation of the programme objectives of Unified Slovenia during the Second World War, which was included in the national programmes of both, otherwise mutually hostile, political camps. After the end of the war, despite the annexation of Primorska, the centennial Slovene ideal failed to materialize. The main reason for this was that the turn of international events was not so favourable as initially hoped for by the Slovene politicians, rendering the ideal of Unified Slovenia unattainable, even during the Second World War.
