Abstract

The article shows the history of landscape architecture design of the castle Strmol and it's position in the broader area. It represents the development of the park from the middle age to the 20th century. It emphasis on the reconstruction of the last owner Rado Hribar made on the base of the Vienna landscape architect plans from Albert Esch. The park conception, that merges park elements of the english landscape style and elements of ortogonal design of parter on the south of the castle, is one of the best preserved historical landscapes in Slovenia.
