Abstract

Carinthia in Slovenia or Slovene Carinthia presents a small part of the historical province of Carinthia, which after the 1920 plebiscite and to the present day remained united with central Slovene territory. Besides on historical development of the region, the stress is in the article laid above all on natural-geographical, social-geographical and economic characteristics of the three Carinthian valleys: Mežiška dolina, Mislinjska dolina and Zgornje Dravska dolina.
