Lovro Pintar – a nationalist in the shadow

Abstract

The article presents the life and work of a priest, teacher, fruit grower, writer and politician Lovro Pintar. The paper is focused on his activity in the revolutionary year 1848 and later in the 70s and 80s of the 19^th century. Also explained is his role in tutoring Josipina Urbančič-Turnograjska, his friendly relations with Lovro Toman, introducing fruit growing, and his appurtenance to the Slovene nation and language.
