A contribution to the early history of Godešič

Abstract

The oldest witnessing on the existence of the village Godešič on the south fringe of the Sorško polje, not far from Škofja Loka, is preserved in a Freising notitia from the beginning of the 11^th century. The article analyses in detail the document, which enlightens the property and social circumstances on the territory of the Freising seigneury of Loka, and in a broader context deals with the circumstances of its origin.
