Abstract

The silver tableware and other silver decorative items at the Strmol castle originate from various mainly Central European silversmith centres with the exception of some silverware of Russian provenience. Among them are hand-made pieces; yet the majority are serial or industrial products. They are defined by characteristics of historicist styles that were prevalent in arts and crafts from the middle of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th Most popular styles were baroque and rococo, which prevail in silver historicist items at the Strmol castle.
