From a medieval castle to a bourgeois dwelling

Abstract

The text analyses the building and the transformation of the Strmol castle into a manor house with the main tower and additional circumferential walls and towers and its strategic position in the broader area. With a considered reconstruction in 1936–1940 by the architect and the owner Rado Hribar they preserved medieval walls and visible elements from different periods.
