The families Dietrich and Urbančič

Abstract

The contribution describes the connectedness of the families Dietrich and Urbančič family with the Strmol castle. The author focuses on the time at the turn of the 18^th century when Martin Urbančič married Konstanca Dietrich, the daughter of Franc Ksaver Dietrich, the then owner of the Strmol seigniory, and on the entire 19^th century. In that time the estate passed over into the hands of Alojz Urbančič, nephew of Franc Ksaver Dietrich; in 1843 he bought the estate at an auction. At the same time, disputes between the Urbančič family at Turn and in Preddvor were in course in which the Strmol seigniory was indirectly involved as well.
