Abstract

The territory beneath the Kamniško-Savinjske mountains was in the second half of the 18th and in the first half of the 19th centuries somewhat distanced from the main traffic system and the peasants were as poor as in other Slovene provinces. They consumed similar food and at home wove or span fabrics for clothing. They were occupied with cultivating of agricultural land and animal husbandry, they grew identical agricultural produce; somewhat less they earned with trading or harnessing along significant transport lines. Different land records that have preserved until the present time and are kept in archives reveal to some extent the peasant life for there are few other written sources on the thematic.
