The development of sports grounds beneath and by the Cekinov Grad

Abstract

The development of sports grounds is linked to the social phenomenon of sports and sports clubs and its fulfilment in the town, in our case the Ljubljana Ilirija, which made part of its grounds beneath the Cekinov grad. In the paper, we follow chronologically two periods: up to 1941, following archival material of the mentioned club, and a good decade after World War II. On the one side, we follow the development of the facilities in view of the development of the club when primary initiative for the sports investment is private, and cannot manage the pretending investment, while the planning of the sports facilities after World War II comes under social development and is part of the urban development.
