Abstract

The churches of St. Anne and St. Wolfgang at Leše are among the picturesque churches on Slovene territory. Nothing is known about their origin; presumably both were built in the 15th century. The St. Anne church preserved to the present day its numerous characteristics it gained through modifications up to the end of the 17th century, including frescoes from the 15th and 16th centuries, golden altar and wooden ceiling from the 17th century. The church of St. Wolfgang had similar elements until the end of the 19th century when it was destroyed almost entirely in a fire and later unfittingly renovated.
