The primary intention of the contribution is to give a survey of memorials and a short synthesis of the already made researches in the field of such heritage in Carinthia. The memorials are divided into two preserved groups of medieval painted creativity: mural painting and painted ceilings. The time span of medieval painting is between the late 13th century and the first third of the 16th century, which already indicated the style transition from late Gothic to renaissance. Regarding wall painting there are as many as 13 churches in Carinthia in which medieval paintings were discovered, which are by quality equal with other Slovene provinces. Some preserved medieval memorials even belong in the iron repertoire of Slovene medieval painting; besides quality, their internationality in particular should be pointed out as they carry in their images the influence of art patterns of the distant Tyrol and Northern Italy.
