Abstract

The article deals with the encounter battle that occurred between the Partisan and Italian armies at Jelenov Žleb on 26 March 1943. Its aim was to show how the combat action was presented in Partisan and Italian documents, closely examine archival sources regarding its casualties and the burial of the fallen soldiers, as well as demonstrate the reflection of the battle in the culture of remembering.
