Abstract

The contribution deals with the piano of the organist Peter Rumpel from Kamnik who was active in the time from approximately 1819 to 1861. The authoress is tackling the questions regarding the place of manufacturing of the piano, which is preserved at the Tuštanj manor near Moravče and was presumably made in the year 1820 in Vienna or in an unknown monastery in Kranj. She presents the characteristics of the instrument and its inclusion in the Vienna school of piano manufacturing from the beginning of the 19th century, and compares the musical instrument with the products of two significant Viennese manufacturers – Nannette Streicher and Conrad Graf.
