The contribution discusses the history of Primary School Prem from its founding in 1826 to the early twentieth century. The aim is to present the history of the school as well as how the establishment of the education system and the work performed by teachers and priests affected the economic development of the Prem school district in the period concerned. Both teachers and priests endeavoured towards developing Primary School Prem and actively contributed to the higher level of agricultural knowledge. The foundation stones of their activities were laid with the introduction of compulsory education in 1774 and the Imperial Primary Education Act of 1869.
