Ignacij Orožen (1819–1900)
Leta 2019 mineva 200 let od rojstva zgodovinarja in duhovnika Ignacija Orožna, avtorja Celske kronike in enega izmed pionirjev zgodovinopisja v slovenskem jeziku.

Ignacij Orožen je bil v svojem poklicnem življenju visok cerkveni dostojanstvenik in stolni prošt tedanje lavantinske škofije. V zasebnem življenju pa zgodovinar, ki je večino svojega prostega časa namenil raziskovanju zgodovine krajev, v katerih je bodisi živel bodisi služboval. Današnja strokovna javnost ga pozna predvsem kot pisca lokalno zelo pomembnih zgodovinskih del, kot sta Celska kronika (1854) in Zgodovina lavatinske škofije (Das Bisthum und die Diözese Lavant), ki je v osmih zvezkih izšla v letih 1868–1893. Slednje Orožen zaradi bolezni ni uspel dokončati, a obstoječi zvezki za marsikateri kraj še danes, več kot stoletje po izidu, predstavljalo najobširnejše obstoječe zgodovinsko delo.
