Ponarejevalci bankovcev Jožef Prelesnik, Jurij Potočnik in Franc Rupnik

Med ponarejevalci denarja, ki so bili na delu v slovenskih krajih, je bil v drugi polovici 19. stoletja najbolj znan Jožef Prelesnik (1832–1898). Prispevek podrobneje govori o ponarejevalcih denarja v prvih desetletjih 20. stoletja na Štajerskem, Francu Rupniku (roj. 1869) in več članih družine Potočnik iz Rošnje pri Št. Janžu na Dravskem polju. Jože in Gašper Potočnik, ki sta pomagala ponarejevalcu Juriju Hvalecu, sta bila obsojena zaradi ponarejanja denarja leta 1891 pred celjskim porotnim sodiščem. Leta 1909 je mariborsko porotno sodišče sodilo sinovom Gašperja Potočnika, krojaču v Rošnji Francu Potočniku (roj. 1880), Gašperju Potočniku ml. (roj. 1888) in Juriju Potočniku (1884–1927). Slednji je bil 1926 ponovno obsojen na 20 let težke ječe. Nekdanji vojak in fotograf Franc Rupnik je bil glavni ponarejevalec denarja v tej skupini. Obsojen je bil 1927, 1931 in 1937. Delovanje ponarejevalcev je mogoče rekonstruirati s pomočjo dokumentov, ki jih hrani Pokrajinski arhiv Maribor.
