Opisujemo Hacquetov spor z ljubljanskim magistratom, ki se je vrtel okoli mestnih kompetenc. Balthasar Hacquet ni pokazal preveč ponižne vneme in je namesto magistrata za sogovornika vzel kar njegove nadrejene; nespoštovanje ustaljenih pravil in hierarhij je sploh značilno za individualiste Hacquetove vrste. Spor je vzplamtel na veliko veselje ljubljanskih firbcev, zdi pa se, da je magistrat potegnil krajši konec. Seveda je vsaka podobnost s sodobnim slovenskim vsakdanom povsem izključena in zgolj naključna.
