Authors

Abstract

In the introduction the author deals with the acquisition and state of the estate of the Vetrinj Monastery in Styria (the first acquisition approximately in 1145), then gives a survey of the estate acquisitions of both monastery units in Carniola: Preddvor by Kranj (the first acquisition in 1147) and Špitalič in the Tuhinj Valley (the first acquisition in the years between 1204 and 1228). On the basis of the archives from the Carinthian Provincial Record Office in Klagenfurt the author further describes the economic condition of both monastery units until their being sold off in 1608. At the end he writes about the efforts of the monastery to get them back untill 1689.
