The article deals with the evolution of the Slovene reconciliation discourse, its beginnings in post-war political emigration up to its implementation and development in Slovenia before and after Slovenia gained independence, and its key characteristics. In doing so, it highlights the contents of reconciliation declarations published by public authorities, individuals, and civil society organisations. The article also points to state measures relating to the demands expressed in reconciliation declarations.
