Examined is the development of the Slovene, and therefore also the Yugoslav, national question during the First World War, and the position of the Emperor and his governments on this subject. Drawing from new material and sources as well as from the extensive existing body of literature the author points out certain aspects that have so far been unknown or insufficiently examined.
