Abstract

Remnants of parchment manuscripts were swiftly turned into material put in good use by bookbinders, particularly so after the spread of printing, knowing that the material at hand was cheap, lightweight and undemanding in terms of the bookbinding process. The article presents several groups of fragments, which in their incompleteness along with their most basic features (time and place of production, table of contents, etc.) showcase also their documentary importance; groups of bindings in question mirror several sociological environments and can be associated with bookbinders attested in Ljubljana and other Slovene locations; additionally, attention has been paid to the bookbinding process itself.
