The Nazis often used in addition to local colla- borators, units made up of volunteers brought from all over occupied Europe. The High SS and Police Commander in the Operational Zone Adriatic Littoral (OZAK) Odilo Globočnik had, for example, two offices for collaborators: an office for local (Landeseigene Verbände) and an office for foreign collaborators (Kosaken und Serben). Globočnik, who was one of the first Nazi commanders that establish auxiliary units from foreign collaborators, brought the Cossack Corps to the OZAK area on his own request, which fought in that territory until the end of World War II. The article will show how the cooperation between the Nazis and Cossacks developed, Globočnik's subordination of the Cossack Corps. The main emphasis will be put on activities of the Corps in the area of OZAK.
