Migrations from Dalmatia to Italy in the 15th and 16th Centuries

Abstract

Migrations from Dalmatia to Italy — mainly migrations of the Slavs to the Marks are treated here — are only a part of the total process of migrations from the western Yugoslav countries into Italy. The climax was achieved in the 15th and 16th centuries and urban as well as rural inhabitants were included, who migrated from economic and other reasons. Until the stream of migration was high, the Slavs have remained for centuries after the period discussed especially in those regions where the density of populations was high.
