Notes on the First School in a Former Slovene Territory

Abstract

The author has brought forward some details concerning the first school at Innichen in Pustertal, a territory once settled by Slovenes. Mention is made of the grant in 769 A. D. by Tasilo III, by which the monastery, and probably the school too, were founded. Information is provided about the first teacher, and the present-day traces of the former Slav population indicated.
