Abstract

One of the questions about the history of the »old« Yugoslavia that has not been thoroughly investigated is the life and work of the Slovene and Croatian emigrants that fled from the Julian March because of fascist violence. The treatise deals with the question of the emigration as a whole, and then treats the activity of two emigrant societies, the »Orjem« and »The Union of Yugoslav Emigrants from the Julian March«. The account concludes with the end of the year 1933. The further development of the »Union« until it's abolition in 1940 vvill be dealt with in a special article.
