Abstract

The treatise deals with the history of those Carinthian parishes of the Beljak church district that belonged, from the year 1461 up to the year 1787, to the legal authority of the diocese of Ljubljana, founded in the year 1461. These were the following parishes: šentrupert, Šmiklavž in the outskirts of Beljak, Skočidol, Lipa nad Vrbo, and Dvor. The parishes in question vvere obliged to send yearly a definite sum of money to the chapter of the diocese of Ljubljana, and they were under the legal authority of the owners of the castle ahd the domain of Landskron. The castle belonged, from 1520 to 1629, to the Khevenhüller family, who vvere adherents of the nevv Lutheran religion, and who thus influenced also their subjects to change their religion. From the ethnographic point of view, the treatise gives the proof that the territories dealt with were thickly populated by Slovenes until the 18th century.
