Abstract

The man has been strongly encroaching upon nature at least since the beginning of the agriculture, only that his activity has more serious conse-quences for nature in the modern bio-technical period. Protection of the natural environment, as far as the quality is concerned, is a new phenomenon, because it includes the nature as a whole. Partial regulations and measures, having a proteetional characteristic mark, yet not passed and implemented in order to protect the nature, but for other reasons (e. g. economy, town-planning, hygiene), can not be looked upon as predecessors of the present protection of the natural environment. The author deseribes more in detail the fact, that the man practically never consumed completely irrevocable food, though the nature was not always exposed to the effections of synthetical chemical substances and technical resources as it is nowadavs.
