Abstract

The inlention of this report, held by the author at Jesenice, on the Nov. 11th, 1978, on the oceasion of the 60th anniversary of fights for the North Slovene frontier, was to show, on the example of the fight for the nationality of the Jesenice triangle after the first world war — the case that has not yet been dealt monographically — that the Slovenes in the upper valley of Sava successfully and spontaneously resisted Italian army. The places, where there was no resistance owing to the Slovene national government, e. g. Postojna, remained occupied. These statements, however, refer only to the territory across the line of demarcation after armistice on Nov. 3rd, 1918. According to the London convention on April 26th, 1915, this territory did not belong to Italy.
