A short survey of military events on the only front of the First World War on the Slovene territory is an attempt to draw attention of the Slovene historians to this 29 months lasting period in the life of the Coastiand inhabitants, as well as to the incomplete treatment resp. total neglecting of research by the experts. These problems, however, are not only military, but extend to ali spheres of nation's life and offer plenty of new problems to the historians.
