Abstract

The theme is dealt with in more problem complexes: the formation of the Slovene-Roman ethnic boundary, connected with the Slav settlement as far as the eastern skirts of Friuli and to Istria; the second part treats the area of this boundary as a place where the Italic and the Franconinan-German type of feudalism met; the third complex describes the spreading and organization of Christianity and the Church southern of the river Drava and the meaning of Aquilea in this connection; the fourth and the fifth complexes in main features describe the economic and cultural boundary exceeding.
