Connections between Thracia and Northernadriatic Lands in Late Antiquity

Abstract

Connections between Thracia and the Northernadriatic lands in the Late Antiquity exibit in various manners: as connections in the field of political and military history on account of strategic positions of both territories, as immigrations of people from the territory of Thracia to the Northernadriatic — who had an important role in the history of the Early church — as a mutual influence in the field of christian spiritual and material culture and finally as a relation of the Byzant Court towards the menaced and by it's developement critical territory on the west periphery of the Empire.
