Abstract

The Slovene Art Club was on 2nd October 1944 founded as an independent society, not being attached to any political organisation. Thus the artists were able — equally with politicians — to participate in forming the cultural policy which was later not possible. This was one among reasons for which the club in 1945 ceased its activities. The Slovene Art Club used most of its power for solving basic theoretical problems; thus it seldom appeared in public.
