Abstract

The Slovene army was in november 1918 formed from the Slovene cores of previous Austro-Hungarian regiments and not from the lines of volunteers in the Serbian army in First World War. The Serbian army treated Slovene and other Yugoslav volunteers raerely as a source for completion of the weakened lines of their regiments and did not enable special Slovene or Croatian units. The Yugoslav division was Yugoslav by name mainly and partly on account of the structure. In fact the Vardar division was renamed and completed with volunteers from Russia.
